Is this a “thing” now?

OK "all" was an extreme term. MOST of the musicians my age or older.....

In fact, here in Eastern NC, most of the PEOPLE my age or older are falling apart. This is not the healthiest region of the country for sure. Even at my last high school reunion, people in their late forties looked like they had been dragged behind a truck down a gravel road (after spending decades in the buffet line).

.

Ever seen an article in the paper and so-and-so, age 49, did this or that. I look at the photo and I'm like jeez, that guy looks old/bad. I'm the same age. Then I look in the mirror. (Sad face). I think I'm younger than my body tells me I am. I'm not sure how old I actually look.

Remember when Sara Conner (the housewife) in Terminator (1984) was killed? The news reported her as 34. 34! What? I would have guessed 50+. I have no idea how to guess/gauge ages.

I look in the mirror and see my father. :(

I have only read some of the thread, starting with Post # 1. But that's enough to contribute this:
If someone is looking for band mates / collaborators on CL, then please: Drop the 'tude.

If you resort to CL, then you are most likely not networking enough in the field, nor have you gained enough presence to partner with or be called for work by other players.
Putting criteria like age for a start-up, is in this case inane because he actually eliminates himself.

Whatever- I've used CL in the bad old days, usually with zero results, but you never know. I'm not totally against it, or BandMix, or anything else.

As an example though, I just viewed an ad where an out-of-state guitarist, looking to come to Las Vegas and be a star, is looking for a "Working/Touring band, no covers etc. etc." Then he links videos, and IMO has pretty much 0 chops, as well as the lack of comprehension that a "working/touring" band would not likely rely on CL to find talent. I know this, as I actually have a working band, and do not rely on CL for players for engagements.

I'm not bashing CL, or anyone's efforts to make something musical happen. Just my .02 on the subject matter.
Rant over.

Oof. I hurt myself at Bum's in Ayden on Tuesday. A buddy of mine live here part time and Nashville part time. We usually grab lunch over there when he's in town. Good stuff....

I eat that stuff more than occasionally though and I'll blow up like a balloon and have blood pressure that breaks vitals machines. :D
