Neck is as smooth as ever! Flake is a little tricky to work with but if you take all the right steps it can work out just as normal. The secret to flake is after spraying your coats of flake, spray another 3-5 coats of just clear, this is a midcoat. You then sand that midcoat down to level everything out. Once your flake is buried and sanded, you add the final coats of clear, your topcoat and wetsand/polish/buff/wax. It's quite a bit more work than normal paint finishes, which is why it took me a month to finish this bass, but it was all worth it in my eyes.

Any pictures of the work in progress? Pretty please with sparkles on top?

Did you use a dryflake gun? What’s your set up?

I really want to do some heavyflake finish! I’ve already spent tons of hours down the YouTube custom paint and flake rabbit hole.

I’d love to see a blow by blow with commentary.

After about of a month of work and multiple layers of paint, flake, and clear I finally finished this crazy creation!
