Is this the latest eBay scam?

Paypal doesn't provide protection from sellers for local pickup, so as a seller you can get scammed if you accept paypal for local transactions, but shipped items with a tracking number are protected.

If it seems like a scam it probably is!

After a few days, come up with a story you had a sudden death in your family, and that the only way for your two adopted stepchildren will survive is if you fly them over to Zimbabwe (or any other country located on the other side of the world) for a life saving operation so they will survive. As a bonus, you will also receive two million dollars that was set up in a trust fund, by a rich uncle but the only way to get it is in person.

At that point ask her to wire 2000 dollars to your local Walmart so you can pay for the ticket, and once you get the money you will give her a million of it just for helping you out.

Totally legit transaction.

The bonus is the bass that you will supposedly receive. The deal is for a label... with a potentially phantom bonus bass.

If U R a creative type U may also choose to write the same information on a post it note & attach it to said item if you happen to have it. There are many options for you with this flexible labeling system and you will never be confused aboutwhat is what =D

He listed the basses on CL to "prove this wasn't a scam" and then went on to say he would refuse to sell them to me on CL because he doesn't want to circumvent eBay.

I am a big fan of hearfields hence I contacted him in an attempt to clarify his intentions.

My mistake. Seems rather than buying a bass I have adopted a troll!

I've found PayPal generally doesn't stand by sellers in comparison to buyers.

Also, I've noticed a lot of sketchy auctions lately that have the same thing in common. That is that the seller has 2-10ish feedbacks and none of them are within the last year. Therefore it doesn't even show what those transactions were.
