Is this too much Doom????

Or is there no such thing?

I ordered a Kustom DE300HD that should be here by early next week. I won't be back from vacation until the following week. If they are still available I might have to bring my amp head and bass and check them out. Well, unless one of you guys beats me to it.;) Manual says 300 watts RMS. That has to be for each speaker right? Would a 300 watt SS head even push this thing? This would be for low tuned metal/doom-ish/stoner-ish stuff.

Those are Scorpion speakers. If you remove the LPF from the cabs and run fullrange to them, they'll have plenty of mids/top, as long as you're standing in front of them.

It certainly looks "Doom".

Ironically, it'd take 2 scorpions to match the excursion capabilities of 1 more modern, high perf. driver, but you'll be making that up in sheer quantity. Yeah, they'll make plenty of noise, take whatever your 300 watt amp can give out.

I didn't see the two 8-10's and two 4-12's in the picture. I thought this thread was called too much doom...

Leaving on vacation in a day. When I get back I'll have my new(used) amp waiting for me. I'll then be on a cab hunt. I'm open with size. I would prefer 2 2x15s over a 4x15 though. I'll check out 410s, 115s, 212s, 215s. As long as it sounds good to me, doesn't fart out on a low A# and is in my budget.

Are you trying to play doom music? If so, grab them both. 8-15's is like a bass player's wet dream.
