Is this Vox Cougar neck fudged?

I got a Vox Cougar for a pretty cheap price and the action is way high. Pretty sure the neck is fudged, but I would like to get a second opinion.

Looks like the body is starting to cave under the neck pickup and the neck itself needs to be reset. The cost to make these repairs may not be worth it in the long run but that depends on what you're planning on doing with the bass. Take the bass to a good luthier and ask what the cost to make the repairs would be in order to get the bass back into playing condition. Good luck with it.

What do you mean by "fudged"? It looks to be shimmed pretty radically.

It's clearly a case of the body collapsing under the heel of the neck. Look at the pix and you'll see it...pic 205700 shows the compression of the body very clearly.

I think it's worth fixing if you have a nice bass - those Vox Cougars are pretty hard to find. It's a job for someone who really knows their stuff.

Not a real cheap fix, but due to rareity, not a cheap bass.

I live in upstate NY so there aren't many high end guitar techs in my area, and I'm not sure if I could afford one anyway.

It is a Crucianelli made VOX cougar, where the body looks caved in may be normal, I have three of this type and all look the same. Look at fedish guitars (search) under Crucianelli those crazey Italians liked to warp the body at the neck. You neck has a big space and a problem.

Voxbassplayer, you don't happen to have any spare parts for the Crucianelli Cougars, do you? I've been on the lookout for a replacement neck for mine and haven't been able to find one. Mine is warped, possibly beyond repair, but the bass still sounds incredible and I would love to be able to actually use it.

I have a VOX Escort by Crucianelli and the depression of the body at the neck is how those crazy Italians made them, the space between the neck and body though shouldn't be there. These bass have a lot of neck problems, I have three and each has a bow or something.
