*** is wrong with my amp? (Novice question )

Wondering why my Peavey Minx 110 does the following:
- pops when I turn it off
-has a staticky sound when on
-when I use a particular effects pedal I can hear a Spanish radio station?

Forgive me if there is a simple explanation for this like maybe my speaker is blown or hell idk... Help me out guys

Is the problem really that you don't understand Spanish?

I used to live about 10 miles from a 5,000 watt AM station in the 60's, and when I hooked up a coily cord to my Precision bass and blackface Bassman, I sometimes picked up the signal from that station at a low level. Radio signals do interesting things...I suspect the cable, not the pedal. Why? because a cable makes a decent antenna, but a pedal doesn't.

If you ever listen to Hendrix at Isle of Wight, you can hear French talk radio coming in through his Marshall during Machine Gun. He also used coily cables:) It used to happen to me when I first started playing...forgot the "rig".
