I had a little duo gig tonight with my friend C. Brent LaCasce, who sings, and plays piano and trumpet.

I had my new GG Array on a pole at ear level and about 4 feet from my Zoom recorder which was about 2 feet from the grand piano with the lid closed. The vocal was a DI from Brents Yamaha powered speaker.

Man......I've been chasing this sound and I finally got it. I'm psyched.

I don't believe you're done or ever will be. It's nice to have someone like you, though, with the resources and will to try all this stuff and submit such thoughtful reports.

Yeah, you AND my wife. But tomorrow is our 39th wedding anniversary and it's amazing to think about all that she has put up with (willingly or otherwise).

Hi Rick, I bought a Genzler Acoustic Array about a month ago and was largely convinced by your posts. Thanks for taking time and effort to contribute your experiences.
Continuing to follow in your footsteps :) I am interested in the Ischell X48C mic.
Did you have any issues with that mic connected to the XLR input of the Genzler?
Asking as I believe that the XLR input delivers 12 volt phantom power

Thanks
Merv

Hi Merv,

No problem running the XLR thru the Genzler with its 12v phantom. I just experimented with running the 1/4 inch into one channel and the XLR into the other. I couldn't detect any difference in tone or volume between the two.
