ISIS...

they did holy tears for you???!? lucky!!

Yeah, that was one of the Holy **** moments.

The weird thing about this show was that it had almost the entire Tool setlist--Dulcina, Backlit, 1000 Shards, Holy Tears--but the immediacy of the venue cranked the intensity above and beyond what I expected.

Have to say, though, it'd be a hard pick between Mansfield in '06 and Portland '09. Being able to look up into space with live Isis as a soundtrack was incredible, but this was an unprecedented level of intensity (plus the setlist was amazing). No Celestial, but I got that last year, so no complaints.

HOLY **** IT WAS GOOD.

setlist:

From Sinking
Not In Rivers, But In Drops
Holy Tears
Threshold Of Transformation
Ghost Key
Collapse And Crush
So Did We
Encore:
In Fiction
The Beginning And The End

the end of the set, was the most incredible thing i have ever witnessed, i **** you not.

You guys are making me so jealous- I never saw them live (nor will I, apparently). I got hooked on Panopticon when it came out and have been a huge fan since. I've got them loaded exclusively in my car right now. The whole band is just awesome. I'd actually say Aaron Harris might be the most talented of the bunch- his way of altering drum patterns while staying mostly in conventional time signatures is extraordinary.

I had a Stingray for a year (black and maple...same as Jeff, I was nearly copying his gear!!) and I guess I just didn't try hard enough.

Heh... I almost did the same thing, although it wasn't entirely intentional.

I've liked the Stingray for longer than I've liked Isis. But knowing an awesome band was rocking one gave me an extra reason to be happy with mine. The fact that mine is black/maple is a plus!

I saw them live last year in a very intimate venue in San Jose... it was practically a religious experience. I wish I could've seen them this year when they stopped in San Francisco, but alas, it was an impossibility.

I'm very glad I saw them when I did. It was one of the best concerts I've ever attended, on par with Opeth, The Mars Volta, and my own massive Seattle gig last year. :D

I'm here for that tone that breaks though, those effects clearly involving both delay and reverb but the added element... sorry to bump.

The one that breaks through at 5:13 in .
Which effects would you say are engaged to create that?
