I started building this bass in 1987. I took a neck off of an existing bass and chopped the hook off the end of it. I then picked up a body from Wayne Charvel. I mated the two and permanently set the neck contouring the joint by hand to get the shape I wanted. I then filled the P-bass holes with epoxy, sanded the front down smooth, and had a buddy rout holes for the EMG's. Once this was all done, I took the bass to a guy that ran an automotive body shop to have it painted. He used to work for Dupont and was going to paint it Ferrari red. When he was done with it I began the tedious process of sanding out the orange peel. When I finally finished the body work and assembled it disaster struck. The neck joint cracked and the epoxy that I used to fill the P-bass holes had sunk a little, too. I was furious. I threw the bass in it's case and didn't look at it again until 1992 at which point i decided to semi-finish it. I repaired the neck and painted the bass primer black. I installed a better bridge and a brass nut, and added a fifth string. I also installed a Hipshot D Tuner. My last addition was two old bicycle brake shoes for thumb rests. This bass is ugly as sin, but plays very well. It's been sitting in it's case for the last 14 years or so as I haven't played since then and it is still in tune. I will never sell it...well...who the heck would buy it?!?

This just might be the best bass for metal!! It actually scares me a little..
