I just spoke to my flatmate. She's just come home from the beach and she reckons it's about 25 degrees celsius in the water......... hmmmmmmmm. There's no surf though, so I'll have to be content to paddle around and dodge the sharks (kidding - no sharks).

OK OK I'll stop teasing now. The truth is I prefer the cold to the heat. These 40 degree days are to hot to handle. At least you can rug up against the cold.

But if any of you guys need a warm place to stay, jump on a plane. I've got room..............

I love New England. Winter maybe cold but thats part of the area. Great woods and mountains to walk in or climb, quite scenic at times, and the summer doesn't get unbearably hot. I like the cold but sometimes it is still just too cold for too long. This winter has been kind of nice, not much snow, but when it is cold it is cold but there has also been some weeks (like this one) that are unseasonably warm.

Bloody southerners! :spit: :p Add another 5 degrees and 60% humidity then you'll have something to close to Brissie. The heat isn't bad at all - it leaves when it gets dark. However, that damn humidity is here 24/7.

I reckon we should do a summer/winter swap. Cheap accommodation, a chance for us Aussies to experience a white Christmas and a chance for the rest of you guys to share in a sweaty and terribly uncomfortable New Year! Sound fair!? :p

Only in places such as the aptly named Snowy Mountains and a few other mountain areas. I'm sure it has snowed in low-lying areas down south, but it is very rare. We don't get many fronts coming from Antarctica. Thus, we simply don't get cold enough weather. :bawl:

Ric, pay for a return ticket and consider me your shovel-monkey. :D

Another day, anothe absolute stinker over here.

Does it snow? Well not really. It snows in the mountains but to get to the snow resorts, I have to drive for 6 or 7 hours from Sydney. Our winters are pretty mild. I can get to 0 degrees celsius at night but the days are not that cold. I still ride my motorbike in winter but I do have to dress for the occasion. Of course the further south you go, the colder it gets and vice versa.
