Yeah, the 6000 is my go. I only got the 9000 because it is the best Boomafunkblaster for metal.
No love for the Boomafunkblaster 7000? I think it's underrated...
I just have to make sure the lights stay on, there's gas in my pickup, and the dogs have food. I occasionally ask the advice of the dog in my avatar, because he's old and wise.

Vidor was known as a "sundown town," where African Americans were not allowed after sunset; it has also long been a haven for the Ku Klux Klan. In 1993, after the U.S. federal government attempted to bring African Americans into Vidor's public housing, the Klan held a march in the community, prompting African American families to move out within a matter of months.
Of course like anywhere else, there are some decent people there. But historically speaking, it has quite a bad reputation. Hey, things do change though. In all fairness I haven't actually been there in a number of years.

Vidor is the redneck capitol of the world. The KKK chapter headquarters was right down town. In the 1980s, they hired a black teacher. His house was burned to the ground and no business in town would sell him anything. It has been a town many who live around it will not go to. If you are not a straight white protestant, you are not welcome there.
This is in no way an exaggeration. The place is famous.

You would not like it there. I grew up in Orange, Texas. Orange is on I-10 on the Texas, Louisiana border. Beaumont is 25 miles west of Orange on I-10. Vidor is about midway between the two. People in the area avoid the place.Ok....I get it.....Vidor is not a town to go to unless you're a racist @$$hole.....Being an Englishman in New York, I'd never heard of the place....Thanks for the education....
I got way off track here from OP, but to address the words of your wife, it's clearly her tacit approval for you to purchase a five string bass. As long as she knows your buddies here at TB said so everything will work out fine.

When I was speccing out my last Carvin purchase (the 5-string Icon in the center of my avatar), my wife didn't care anything about it... until she was leafing through the Carvin catalogue and saw a guitar finished in sunset burst flame. She told me "I think that would be a very pretty color for a bass."
After 20 years of marriage, one knows not to argue such things... especially when she's letting you plunk down serious coin. Sunset burst it was. She also told me, "Buy it before I change my mind." Thank God for the online builder.
I have it kind of lucky. Basses come, basses go, nary a peep from my wife.
