It's a what?

She pretty much has a "whatevz" attitude about my bass stuff. I am much more concerned with how much I spend on gear than she is. That being said, we have a hard and fast rule. Other than groceries, neither of us will spend more than $100 without telling the other first. But it's not like asking for permission. It's more informing the other and not hiding things from each other.

we have the same rule. it's a good one i think.

Ok, what are juicing greens?

Bag 'o leaves that include spinach and kale and whatnot. My wife throws them into the blender to make smoothies.

Generally I would go out of my way to berate any meal that doesn't use bacon as its base ingredient. However, that woman looks dang good in a pair of jeans so I stay away from the topic of whatever she wants to eat.

LOL... many years ago I was in a band with a guy who lived there (I lived in Beaumont at the time). Vidor is an... ummm... "unusual" place. These days I just buzz past it as fast as I can on I-10.:D
I grew up in Orange and had a lot of family in Vidor. I assumed if you lived in Houston, you would know it. When I was a long haired hippy I always feared breaking down or running out of gas in Vidor. I always said I would just push my car to Beaumont rather than stop in Vidor to get help.

Take her shopping with you and show her all the lovely basses. Perhaps she'll enjoy the time with you and feel more involved when you buy the pretty red one. ;)
This would be basically inviting questions like "Why is that woody one $500 more than the blue one?" to which the answer is often not clear to non-musicians. Heck, my wife is a singer and gave me the eye for buying a $50 beater, 'cause "it looks the exact same as your other one" (Squier vs Ibby, have 4 strings in common and nothing else not even color).

Wife acceptance factor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wife Acceptance Factor, Wife Approval Factor, or Wife Appeal Factor[1] (WAF), are design elements that increase the likelihood a wife will approve the purchase of expensive Invalid Link Removed products such as high-fidelity loudspeakers, home theater systems and Invalid Link Removed. Stylish, compact forms and appealing colors are commonly considered WAF.[2] The term is a tongue-in-cheek play on electronics Invalid Link Removed such as "form factor" and "Invalid Link Removed" and derives from the gender stereotype that men are predisposed to appreciate gadgetry and performance criteria whereas women must be wooed by visual and aesthetic factors.

Me: Oh look! 18 months no interest financing at Musician's Friend!! Self, what do you think? Sonic Blue custom jazz with maple fretboard and Fender Pure Vintage 60's pickups?

Sometimes it's awesome to be single :)

I keep music $$ separate from all our other income. I use it to pay for gas, food at gigs, G.A.S.
I do not need it, nor use it to pay bills.

If I want a new bass, cab or amp.. I just go buy it, let her know I did and tell her to expect a delivery tomorrow pm.. :)
No issues.. no hiding anything, no trouble.

Oddly enough, I just came in from the patio having just shared a bottle of plonk with my wife....

Conversation with her went something like this....

Me: I'm thinking of ordering a new Crackercaster bass....

Her: When?....

Me: Right now but it won't be ready for about 6 months....

Her: Well that's your Christmas present taken care of then.....

I love that woman!!!....:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

My wife has suffered me blabbing about basses for years - why I like p/j basses with a jazz neck- how I like ash bodies, etc. One day there was a guitar center flyer in the mail with a limited run p bass special deluxe sea foam green with an ash body. My wife said "you should get it- you have been working hard and it's everything you want." One of the million reasons I love her to the moon and back.
