The one that I had was bought last year.. new.. it was a C00 and had the very current board at that time.. On day.. it just died.. would not power up any more.. no smoke or any thing.. the day before it was good.. practiced with it.. but the next afternoon.. it would not power up..
Took it back and picked up the Mesa D800.. I really like the lil Mesa Subway amp.. best thing I like about it is.. it won't power up if you try to use a bad cord!
That's my only concern .. Is the horror stories of it not working.. But I'm hoping those issues were sorted out and fixed

Well looks like I'm leaning towards that Mesa ..... Need reliability

My Ampeg Heritage 8x10 just arrived !!!

What GK would you say ?

700RBII or the fusion550/mbfusion500

With a 4 ohm 8 speaker cab you don't need a lot of wattage like the 1001 or fusion 800.

Seriously, best tone I ever heard was the fusion550 running an ampeg 810, followed by the 700. The low mids were magic....dammit....now I've got GAS for an ampeg 810.

I was fortunate enough not only to get an 8x10,, I got the Heritage 8x10..

I think. ... (my 2c. .take it as you like) is. ..that if you're lugging a 100 + lb cab...why not use an amp that was MADE for it. (I KNOW there's arrangements in EVERY direction here. .. but. ..)
The SVT-CL or Heritage SVT-CL or VR or. ...and, outta the time space continuum:- Fender Super Bassman.
These sealed 810 cabs just SHINE with a good all tube power section driving em.
My fave is the Super Bassman but, hot on its heels is the SVT-VR.
The Super Bassman thru a REGULAR SVT810E is beautiful, I can only imagine how nice the Heritage 810 must be.
Congrats btw!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Works a treat!

And, as someone else mentioned above, the V4B is fantastic thru one too.

Most definitely. I had the heritage 410 for awhile and ABd it with an older 410 HLF, those eminence speakers make a difference! If buy the heritage 810 if I could ever justify using a cab that big anywhere. Would make a nice music room decoration for sure with that sparkly grill.

I once went the route of the matching SVT head, and while it looked good and matched I feel like the GK head beat it out in versatility. I had a super bass man too, that beat out the SVT.

If I was going class D and had a Heritage 810 cab. If probly go for either the

Aggy Tone Hammer 500 (HEAPS of volume-especially outta an 810!!!)
or,
Genzler Magellan 800 - nice and versatile & great quality. (I've not used it thru a sealed big cab tho, so can't comment as to how it'd sound thru it. No doubt it'd be great, as it sounds great thru all the cabs I've used mine thru .
&, ppl might say this is a strange choice, but I like the tone of the
GB Shuttles 6.0, 6.2 or 9.0/.2 depending on yr power requirements -600w was PLENTY for my needs.
They have a great tight @ss end, & plenty of EQ scope. I found I liked em better than most other (small sized) amps at the time. And the tube can be overdriven pretty nicely at all volume levels. You'd have to buy used here tho.

Rod, have a chance to taste the Magellan?
