It's too bad Peavey gets ZERO respect.

Another Peavey fan here as well. Started using Peavey basses back in the '80's, Foundation S (4 string PJ). Always been a Peavey in the stable since. Been using a USA Millennium 5plus exclusively since 2000 and it is now the only bass I own.

The only other basses I have GAS for would be a GV or USA Grind 5 (which is almost impossible to find now). Both of which are USA made Peavey's. If I ever feel I absolutely needed a passive bass it would definitely be a Foundation 5.

Also I can comment on Peavey PA gear as well, Black Widow loaded Cabs, light high wattage power amps, that gear is truly road worthy and reliable.

Hah!

Tyler Jones " I'm about to buy a used Peavey B quad 4 for an absolute steal of under $500. I'm excited. I played it and it's heavenly. Graphite neck <333 "

If you don't, let me in and I will.

My B4 is the best electric bass I own. I've used Peavey gear, amps and basses for ummmmm ........... 36 years.

In the early to mid 1980's, my Peaveys were better basses than my Fenders (1972, 1974, 1977-8 P's) and as good as the late 1970's Stingray I had. I don't get the attitude toward Peavey gear.

Right where it belongs ;)

This thread is silly. I think this thread would have been less silly had it been named "It's too bad Peavey gets little respect." I still would have been inclined to disagree had the original post been the same though.

This is the WORST thread EVER. :D

hmmmmm...it sounds to me that da peavey haters are simply tone death...any musician with ears sbould be able to hear if their setting their rig up rite that thick bite smooth sound of a cirrus peavey bass (usa)...the problem is most dont know how to werk a 3band eq on a bass...da pickups are in da sweet spot of da bass giving it a superb midrage punch set ya amp eq around that and you will hear da beauty of da bass
l dont think that theres a low b that can top the low b on a cirrusjust my thinking out loud...lol

My perception of Peavey is that they build to a price point rather than build it to a design goal. Could be 100% incorrect, but that's what I think of when I hear the name "Peavey".

The only thing I can say negative about Peavey, basses or amps, or *gasp* guitard stuff is they seem to be marketing more to the pointy instrument crowd these days...

Facts are there is a ton of Peavey equipment out there and it will continue to work for years and years. the basses are generally all solid, well built and great value for the money.

And, even though there is a lot of instruments and amps out there, the amount of PA Equipment that is out there dwarfs it!

Peavey makes darned good stuff.

I just bought a Millenium 5 AC BXP. I think it's a really nice bass. I would proudly play it anywhere. I once had an old Peavey TKO 65 or 80(something like that) combo bass amp that was really loud and never gave me a bit of trouble. It was heavy though.
I think a lot of folks think that something has to retail for an expensive price to be really good. I tend to disagree, which is probably why I like Peavey, Carvin, Crate, etc. Who cares what anyone else thinks, get whatever you like, and be proud of it!

I love my USA Cirrus. It has been my go to bass for 5 years. It is a tank that takes a licking and keeps putting out night after night.

I would live to see Peavey expand the Cirrus line to a true custom shop with more wood choises, pickup choises (MM/J or P/J Cirrus!! GAS!!), and different scale length. The downer with the custom shop was the limited choises you had.

And I would LOVE to see a singlecut Cirrus!

They did but in this economy they have closed the custom shop. It was around for many years.
