Just got this notification on FB that Epi will soon be selling this! I'm very happy with my Chicago Blue Pearl model, but this is really beautiful. I've noticed Epi's photography is sometimes lacking so it must be a real knock-out in person. Epiphone Ltd. Ed. 20th Anniversary Jack Casady Bass Outfit
Godamn ...wish I didn't see this. Have been on the brink of picking up one of these for a while. This finish option may just push me over the edge...
Two different nut width specs appear in your link: 1.50" and 1.65". I wonder which is correct. Really like this color. Other than the nearly-impossible-to-find sunburst ones, none of the other finishes that have been offered on this instrument have appealed to me. Am curious to see what the street price of these will turn out to be.
Nut width is color-dependent! White & blue =1.65" Gold=1.6535" 20th Anniversary= 1.5" Also color affects the neck profile. Not to mention about the consistency of the specs column on the right
Click on Epi's link of "authorized retailers" and it gives you a Google map of your area. Expect a lot of GC popping up.
Probably more than the others for the finish, the included leather strap, gig bag, and autogrape COA. I'm going to estimate $1k which honestly would still be a good deal IMO.
"I'm going to estimate $1k which honestly would still be a good deal IMO." That's about the max I'd be willing to shell out for one. "Autograph....stupid autocorrect" That's funny: my mind auto-corrected the auto-correct so I read "autogrape" as "autograph" before you pointed it out. Contextual hallucination, I guess.
For years, I've looked at these and thought they were cool, but never quite enough to buy one. This red one was about to push me over the top. Absolutely gorgeous. And then I saw the 1.5" nut width and I lost my interest.
I doubt the 1.5" nut width in the spec sheet is correct. The text says it's the normal width, and there's no reason they'd do a special run of skinny necks for this. But I suppose we'll find out.
Different strokes: I would ONLY buy it if the nut is 1.5". Like me some narrow necks. But I agree: if the spec Mr. C wanted has been 1.65"+/- up til now, it seems unlikely that he would suddenly change it after 20 years. Probably just a typo.
Or perhaps seeking a wider market. The color and nut width would both be things that have been lacking in what might push me over into buying one. The colors and fat neck kept me from ever seriously considering one.
