Jack Read Update

This is the first time i read about Read's preamp.
Can someone enlighten me? Why is it one of the best in the business?

A search of the Amps forum should reveal all. In the meantime: I went with the Read Purity over my beloved Alembic F2B that I used for 2 decades because the Read gave me tube warmth every bit as sweet as the Alembic's, along with modern bells and whistles such as DI, tuner out, mute switch, impedance switch, EQ bypass, and more. I also prefer the Purity's EQ voicing.

It's possible the Purity preamp is being redesigned... so, the features may change. But I have no doubt that a new version will only be better.

Last time I talked to him he was also working on a couple of designs for tube compressors: a high end studio comp and a 'cheaper' road/studio one. I'm still waiting to see what he has to offer.
