Here is my very modified 1986 Charvel 2B bass. She's since become retired after many wonderful years of service.

many,many,many people do NOT like pointy headed anything, thus I become a minority around here, but there are still plenty of pointy-head lovers out there like me, dosen't necessarily have to say Charvel/Jackson on them.

that Tbird is a TBX made in 94 only along side their FB guitar series.

Remember it was Rickenbocker that made the triangle inlays famous, as well as the many other brands that used pointyheadstocks Charvel only changed the shape and used their own version :)



and I don't agree with you on one point, that is Tbirds are a very "different" bass than all the P+J looking basses out there, but I own 6 P/J looking basses, so I never say this brand looks better/worse than the other brand...just different

I wanted to dump a MM in her, but just didn't want to carve anymore wood out of her. She had a Kahler on her and I filled that hole with a chunk of red oak and filler, same with the p pup holes. It was a lot of work, but she was great. Once I got the Fender, I knew she was done.

+1 -- that is certainly a unique modification, if nothing else.

I would love to hear some soundclips of that pickup on that thing. Although I can simulate it by using the bridge pickup on my 2b's I'll bet it is totally different sounding.

I still have her. She's tucked away in her original case right now. I'm building a display case to rest her in. The pup is a stacked humbucker and the sound is punchy to say the least. I'd just tone it down from the amp. If I ever do pull her out again, I'll need to rewire the electronics completely. Thanks for the compliment on the referb, I was going for complete plainness.

with all the modding you did with the wood and filling the holes stuff, I'm surprised you didnt just put a peizo pickup in it and make the front totally bare. peizos are unique sounded, and that may not have been what you were after at the time soundwise.


great modding job, and yea...hopefully I can do some interesting things on mine in the future like you did.

Well considering it's 18 year old it's in pretty good shape...it has some minor scratch and dents but it plays great...the action is extremely low with no buzzes at all (it's tuned in A),the only thing is that the preamp is starting to get a bit hissy,so I ordered a new one,active as well...should be here soon :D

I thought about doing that, but I figured it would sound too thin. For all I have done to this bass, every re-mod was kinda fun. I won't be doing it to my new Fender though, I learned my lesson.

I bought a jackson concert serie there in the 80's and it was my best friend on studio & stage. The years push me to have another & I recently bought another one brand new there are in good price and still kicking asses.

I love them, great sound, brightness, deepness and good looking...!!!
