If you don't like the Jacksonbirds, you're absolutely wrong in the head! I'd much rather have one than a Gibson. Those are incredibly sick!

I have a pic of my JACKBIRD earlier in this thread or I would have put it in this post.I always wondered from the day that green machine got sold on EBAY who bought it, and ya, I found out and I'm happy for him, but I never knew till lately he already had another one. Now my qwest will be to find a BLUE one, so between him and I, we will have every color they made... His is so different, cause his has the white pickguard on it, but makes it MORE unique !!!!!

See you've got the posh version of the Kip Winger bass complete with the Kahler bridge and EMGs (??).
Mine's the same colour but has the Jackson bridge and their own brand active pickups with a passive tone control (no idea why they did it that way....).
It's such a great bass and one which I'll never sell. I loved the lacewood so much that I had to have it when I had a custom Sei bass made.
I have a 93' Jackson Concert V with Bartolini pickups and Aguilar OBP-3 preamp which I am proud to talk about in every related thread 
I am thinking of having a new fretless fingerboard built but I keep changing my mind because of those beautiful sharkfin inlays.
I wish it had a slightly smaller body though

My first 5 string was a Jackson 5 Concert in Burnt Sunburst w/ Duncan P-ups. Fantastic bass. It was my baby for a couple years. I'm currently selling it to make way for new (smaller) and better gear.

a couple years before I bought my JACKBIRD, the SPECTORBIRD is what inspired me to get mine, ( both extremely good metal basses for sure ) ANYTHING coming out of Jackson-Japan back then was awesome, INCLUDING the GUITARS -- you know, those couple octave higher units? --I think I'd rather have both the Spectorbird AND Jacksonbird over the standard Thunderbird.
I LOVE a couple topics related to Jackson stuff, when people actually post in them!!!
Let's keep all the other manufacturers aware that Jackson as a company and satisfied people, still LIVES (If nothing else), LIVES IN THE SPIRIT OF ALL OF US who still have them, totally enjoy them, even if the masses say the BEST ones made are the models that are 10 years old or more already.
do I detect a TB Jackson bass club soon?

I wondered that myself. Jackson really nails the versatile side of the equation. I used to own one about 10 years ago, with 2 soap bar pups in Jazz configuration. Active electronics were great and the neck was really sleek (narrower than J in both ways). I guess it had stock hipshot tuners and bridge. I primarily played it with an alternative band.
oh YA beautiful, both of them. yous looks like the older customshop t-bird sertup, like the futura split. what year is yours, and we will have to wait for shark1 to chime in with his year to find out, unless someone already knows.

I have a Charvel/Jackson 1988 B3 bass.
Upgraded EMGs, but still the passive preamp. Very P-ish, but with tons more thunder.
And the firecrackle finish ALWAYS is an eye-catcher.
It's a very solid bass, neck through with nary a scratch and got it for $450.
Any chance you could post a pic? I had one like that "back in the day" as well. Traded it for a Spector NS-2A that I wish I still had!
You are right, my Winger has EMGs, too. And sure that is an absolute amazing bass. Great neck, great shaping, great tone!
By the way: The Jacksonbirds are not only great lookers. They are hell of players, too. Time to start the club.

I really need to find the right light to get a good picture of this.
It sucks, because outside you don't see the black, and inside the orange and red and yellow don't stick out. It's tough to photograph, but in real life- look out.
It always gets a double-take!
I have no idea what year it is. I'll post the serial number tomorrow and see if anyone can date it for me.
When I bought mine, I had a choice of 2. The other one had the Kahler bridge, EMG's, red quilt maple top and the Jackson logo in abalone.
I bought the lacewood as it sounded a lot better.
