Jackson Concert Bass?

the bassist of one of my former bands (i did vocals in that one) played one of the black cmgs. after the band broke up he sold it for 200. i didn't particularly care for the sound, but seeing it through the active-humbucker bass lens, it was really a nice instrument.

ya tom, the KB1 was a great bolt on unit. I was gonna get one and save money back then, but I had the GAS for a neckthru.

a lot of Jackson-Japan basses, the Futura, Eliminator, the Concert variations thru the couple years they made em -- all good units, kinda like the FenderGuys who like MIM instead of MIJ/MIA version.

The custom shop catalogs especially from Jackson Japan were always a lot of fun eye candy back in the hey-day of Jackson like any other company trying to get a piece of the market.

LOL! Sorry about that. I went straight to the last page of the discussion.

It's gonna take a hell of a lot of Goo Gone to get those stickers off. I think it's still a pretty good deal since the BIN is under $500 AND he's picking up the shipping.

ya I emailed him and he replied already earlier tonight. He is also worried people will think the stickers are hiding damage, and hurt his chances of trying to get what he thinks it is worth, so I recommended he remove them, and retake pics, and edit the description , he says it is very clean with no damage at all.... If he actually takes those stickers off, I will add him as one of my favorite sellers for sure, and ask him why he is NOT on talkbass...

that may be a downside to a buyer though, as "OTHER" bidders will now pay a little more to have it.;)

The guy with the White one on EBAY took my advice, and removed all the stickers AND lowered the price!!!!

NOW EVERYONE can see that the stickers are gone, and did not hide years of abuse under them. This is a fine bass, and I would have already bought it, but cash at the moment says nope... ( well more like the wife saying no, but same result I can't get it )

I hope someone here nabs it up, cause theres still a couple days left in the auction ---

Tried getting info thru Jackson's site and serial number, but don't see my bass's sequence :confused:
After talking here figgered it's a ±'93

Plays well, sounds great. Jackson pups. 2 octave neck sealed the deal :bassist:

Oh man you've just ruined me. Here I was thinking "OK, my Concert V is staying as is". Now I'm thinking of re-finishing it to white! :scowl:

Whilst there's some Jackson fans here, I thought I'd fire this question at you.

The electronics in my Jackson KW are in need of an overhaul. The pots and input jack are pretty much toast and need replacing. Problem is I have a mass of wires in the cavity as it has the slightly strange active "Reflex" pickups with passive tone controls.

If I was to switch out the pickups for a passive set and put new pots in, what pickups would you choose (or is it possible to have the Reflex pickups re-wound somehow).

Apologies for the thread hijack, but I thought I ask the Jackson fans :D

I would choose Bartolini's, I have it on my CV, wired to an OBP-3 with active/passive switch, and passive mode sounds great. Not as great as active though :D
