Looks nice... what do the switches do in place of the volume knobs? On / off I guess for the pickups, but what about tone?Update on my SuperMinion project. Added Nordstrand NP4a and NJ4SE pickups. What bridge is that? Any problems in intonation? Is the back top edge sharp? I actually like the looks of it. Hmm...am interested. Maybe I'll end up with one.Update on my SuperMinion project. Switches?! No those are just solid shaft pots with no knobs lol. It's set up vol vol tone. It's loud and bright and pretty solid. Nordstrand NP4a and NJ4SE. Great thick tone!!Looks nice... what do the switches do in place of the volume knobs? On / off I guess for the pickups, but what about tone?
I just ordered a Neon Green one to upset a few people. Planning to get the EMG PJ Geezer Butler pickups at a later date, unless I get along with the stock pups. Now I'll be nervously tapping my foot til it arrives on Wednesday![]()
Lol they look like foot switches. Maybe I just came up with a fun idea. The geezer set comes with new pots anyway so I’ll use those....Switches?! No those are just solid shaft pots with no knobs lol. its a Hipshot Kickass bridge. No sharp edges. Wasn't any issue with intonation. The bridge was a direct replacement fender mounting pattern. Really liking it. Tough to be HipshotWhat bridge is that? I suppose it’s a matter of taste. I prefer the look of the Jacksons, never been a fan of Ibanez’s less traditional shapes. If it proves to be a worthy instrument I’m think of buying one of each of the guitars also, with an idea that my son can learn on them in a few years if he wishes (and why wouldn’t he!)I tried a Neon Green one at a GC a few days ago, there was even an Ibanez Mikro nearby to compare it with. To be honest, I think I prefer the Ibanez Mikro with the medium frets. I know this is all a matter of personal preference, the Ibanez just felt better overall.
I actually love the look of the Jackson, prefer it over the Mikro especially in that Neon Green color. It's an awesome looking little thing. It's just when I played both, the neck of the Ibanez felt a tad better to me - this is of course a personal preference, I think the Jackson would be a better option for some. Now if I can switch necks that would be great. lol....I suppose it’s a matter of taste. I prefer the look of the Jacksons, never been a fan of Ibanez’s less traditional shapes.
