I wanted to share one last thing for Tyler Bass owners. James told me that some players crank the Gain boost control and turn down the Master volume to taste. Apparently this might give you a more pushed sound--even though the Tyler system is pretty strong sounding as it is. It doesn't/can't create distortion in the Demeter, but I would think it is more of a tonal/color added thing, like an all systems cranked sound.

I do not own one, however a friend of mine brought one yesterday for a concert where I performed. I was a little concerned using a bass that I never played before, so I used my Fodera NYC 5 for the first set and decided to give a try for Tyler for the second set. I was planning to use it just in one song but the action was low and I felt at home with the bass, I figure out the preamp quickly and the sound was incredible, the Demeter preamp is right on the money. So now I am in the search for a Tyler.

Here's one up on ebay right this very moment.

I just posted the pic, not the auction, but if you go there you'll realize just how little these basses depreciate when they come up for sale. They're right up there with Alembic in terms of holding value

If this bass was a four it would be an insta-grab...:hyper:

i had two. i may have lost the pics, but they were something. one had a narrow neck that was giant front to back. tree trunk. both 34s, 5 string, early 90s.

I'm looking for one again, if anyone hears anything...
