Jay Ganz Straight Ahead Power Amp

Can someone PM me his email? The FB links don't work and I can't find him on FB by his name. The steel guitar forum wants $5 just to sign up so I can PM him there and I'm not even sure he monitors his PM's there.

Looks like a handy product.

This was the FB page. But it doesn't seem to be up right now. I don't have his email. Sorry couldn't be more help.

I just picked one up from another TBer. I just find it amazing that the size and weight of that little box has so much volume.

I’ve run a Broughton SSDI, Aguilar Tone Hammer, and a Sans-amp BDI into the amp - all sound amazing.

My pedalboard has a Broughton SV-Pre and a Super Stack - I needed to boost the signal with my LP/HP Filter, but man, talk about a back up amp with Fender or Ampeg tone stacks! If my head went down, just plug the pedalboard into the SAMPA and boom!

I love modern technology, and light-weight gear.

I recently grabbed one off TB as well. Nice little amp!! I’m going to use it with my very light weight and small digital XR18 mixer to run my main PA speakers in small bars now that my band has in ear monitors. No need to bring a rack amp.

It’ll fit right on top of the mixer in its case.

Having a 500W PA and 18 channel digital mixer with many features you get in a full blown studio all in a light weight package smaller than my pedalboard is amazing!! Great time to be a musician!! Accept for all the piracy by Apple and Spotify and the low potential for actually earning an income with it.

I just recently had a conversation on Facebook about getting one with a speakon connector. Then I saw the page and account are gone.
I hope he does actually plan to build more. Maybe I should have moved faster at getting one…. Or paid closer attention to the classifieds here.

I just picked one up. I have a Broughton P-15, Archetype as well as many pedal preamps (SvPre, Silver Deluxe, Helion, Studio One).

How is everyone setting things up? Straight Ahead volume all the way up and volume control on the preamp OR the other way around?

Thanks!

When using power amp/pre amp, I'm inclined to crank the power amp and use my pre volume as Master. That's because if I do use a poweramp, it's because I want clean power and headroom. Differrent setups for different kinds of results.

I bought one "used" off reverb a few months ago. Seller said he bought 2 at the same time and never used this one. Got it to replace a Crest CA6 I've been using. It's been wonderful with my Rusty Box pedal as a pre-amp into my 2 homemade TL-606 cabs. Makes my loud in/out a lot easier too when I can throw it in the side pocket of my pedalboard bag.
