Awful sound. Can't decide whether it's the Custom Shop bass, or the amplifier. No sparkle and little depth. Just lots of MEH. Give me hifi sounding gear any day.

Within reason, it sounds like what a '60 J would sound like. (more or less right?) For playing examples promoting it's vintage quality, I don't know about slapping it and the 2nd chordal thing wasn't the best way to showcase it either. I feel the FCS intent was to re-create a 1960 J vibe and it was played through a vintage vibe amp - both of which weren't especially hifi. Not dissing the player, but better playing examples could have been selected. Just sayin'
