Jazz Bass Mania!

which one do you like the most out of these two?

well the jazz is pretty new.....so i might be kinda biased.

i think after all the dust settles i will like the jazz more. i love the more natural, passive tone. i also like the jazz much more for slapping. i think the passive pups sound much cleaner, focused, and funkier when slapping. i aslo find the jazz MUCH easier to play (string spacing and neck) obviously the jazz is much better looking.

i do love the ray too though. i plan to use it more on tunes when i really want to cut through and get in peoples faces.

i hope my ray doesn't read this :hmm:

My 78 Jbass, This is the one for which all other basses I play are measured up to..13 lbs of pure tone...

This is my 82, Not quite the "one" but it's a killer sounding and playing bass, Although it's a crappy white refin it's getting a sweet shoreline gold refin right now and a gold hardware kit as we speak.

Hmmm it almost looks like two different people, I guess dropping 60 lbs was a good thing..lol

Brian;

Awesome basses. String through body, 3 piece neck, built by Chris Benavente. What preamp are you using?
Also, would you be able to build a 6 string in the future?

It has the Benavente 3 band eq in it. Also an option for those that don't care for a mid control we can set it up for just 2 band system.

The LowEnd jazz basses go from 4 string to 7 string! The plan was to have a 7 string at Summer NAMM, but time didn't allow for it.... at least as of yet it hasn't. If a 7 string LowEnd Jazz doesn't make it to Summer there will be one at Winter NAMM! Other words 6 string is no problem!

Thanks

Wow, Chris builds excellent basses, my Vortex 6 is a great bass, super fast neck. So, your line must be great. A 7 string Jazz bass would be something that really interests me.
What scale could you offer? Is a 35" possible?
Also, how about pickup options? I am a bartolini quad coil pickup freak :D

Standard they are 34" but we can build them as 35". Since they are hand built by Chris we are able to offer options not usually offered in a Jazz bass.

Obviously I'm a little partial to the Custom Pickups we use in the bass, but if you wanted Bartolini then thats not a problem. It would be better if you purchased them and sent them to us if you wanted to go the Bart route.

Thanks
Brian

Not finished because I nearly ruined it attempting to put the neck on.
