My fretless. (tsssk tsssk, it's not a Fender, but an Aria from the late 70s. My first bass actually... I defretted it myself when I got the Fender. (1990, I was 15...)

You bet it has! But it just gets better and better... However, I'm thinking of retiring it a little. Get another bass for the heavy-duty roadwork, and bring out the good old one for the finer gigs and studio work and such...

Nice one! Some of those old japanese (I presume) Fender replicas are actually really fine instruments! Mine could use new pickups and some rewiring, but it sounds very nice, and it feels better to play than lots of Fender fretlesses I've tried...

The CAR is now sporting a black 3-ply pg and look´s really tasty.

It's a KSD Proto J

Not a Sadowsky or Lull, but still a damn fine bass. I"m really diggin' it.

The other is a MIJ '62 stack knob RI with matching HS. It's got a weird pedigree, supposedly a custom shop job. However there is no Japan Custom Shop.

You remind me of Jaco, the combination of both your basses crates a very Jaco-ish bass.

I though Sadowsky cause the blocks on the Metro Ultra Vintages look really similar, but then I saw the knobs, and Lull because I'm not very familiar with them. I thought KSD afterwards but was too lazy to edit.

Beautiful bass though!

I'm really impressed by these, and I got it for a steal.

Yeah, it looks great!!! Can you get one for me too? Link to the manufacturer?
Can you remove the pickguard, or have they made a grove for the neck pickup wiring under the pickguard? (that's the case with my fretless, otherwise I would have removed the pickguard on that one too...) And personally, i like it better when the output is placed on the metal plate, together with the knobs, but that's really a minor detail...
