jazz bass mods

not sure if this is the place to post this but.. has anyone here switched out the vol vol tone three pot system on a modern jaxx nass for the two pot with tone and volume for each pickup. if so were is the best place to get the stuff.

The first mod I make to any jazz style bass, after installing strap locks, is to modify it to volume, balance, tone.

Set the volume once, and then find the sweet spot between the pickups. Otherwise, you can spend a lot of time farting around with two different volume controls trying to get there.

bmc I am 100% with you on that. I use volume a lot when playing at church and having 2 vol pots is just annoying. I know there's lots that disagree with this!

I want a balance control as well, it enables you to use your master volume to cello notes (hit the note with volume all the way down then raise the volume for a cello sound)

I used to use this tecnique to play the start of wonderwall (such memories) but you can't do this on a regular Jazz Bass.

Not me - I pretty much always install a series/parallel switch, instead... I really like a Jazz bass with it's pups in series - they thump a bit more like a P Bass, but sound a little more clear in a mix, kinda like a regular Jazz...
