JC Basses 5 String Spalted Maple

It isn't rounded over yet, that is just the top. It is glued up to the body core right now, but I won't be back at the shop to round it over for some time. 
After gluing the body together, I rounded over the edges. I was also able to route the pickup cavities and rough the neck pocket.
wow, that is really and truly amazing. i really like how clean your work is, its almost like it just magically happens that way
Ahh I am loving how this bass is turning out so far I cant wait for it to be finished!!!!! I am all ready having visions of her sister ala Part 2.......
Today, I turned a block of maple into something the resembles a neck. All of the neck has been cut to final size and the profile is being roughed out as we speak. That allowed me to finish the neck pocket as well.

Love CA Buckeye, might be neat to do a semi rainbow with endemic CA woods, Redwood/Buckeye, Manzy, Scrub and Live oak, etc.
Give me a bit and I'll see.
Need to consider the woods more and think about a concept.
Can you do LED's or add carbon etc?

Never done LED's or carbon (except for neck strengtheners), but always wanted to try LED's. Let me know what you come up with!
Jared it would have look great if you would cut the pickup pieces of the top out and use them on pickup covers.
I got a killer piece of birdseye maple and was able to cut the fret slots, trim it to size and glue it on the neck today.
The fretboard is done and most of the neck carving is as well. I just need to get it with the body so I can make the heel transition.
