Jeff Beck R.I.P.

I am so glad I saw him last summer in Oslo. One of the most memorable concerts I've heard, and by far the best "guitar" concert. .... crystal clear guitar sound and brilliant playing. His pal Mr Depp joined in towards the end. Not so interesting, I'm afraid.....
RIP

Thanks Jeff… RIP. I’m glad we worked together and I saw what a genius you were…
A friend just gave me the news… Working with you opened doors for me and I’ll never forget.

Saw him live twice …in 99 and 01…both were mind blowing. The man was one of my biggest influences to pickup an instrument. I used to listen to blow by blow every night I went to sleep as a teenager. I remember not being able to discern what was beck playing on that cd. The guitar playing moved seemlessly throughout that cd. The whole cd is integrated into my dna. Later got into wired and his 90’s output. Nadia still blows my mind. Seeing him do that and where were you live…..completely melted my brain. Jeff…..where ever you are …..thank you and tell Hendrix and Django I said hello….RIP..

aw, man... :(

Centuries from now (if humans are still alive somewhere in the universe) guitarists will still look at Beck's work and wonder how he was able to develop such a unique touch on the instrument.

This one really hurts.
I made a case to my "small circle" of friends a year ago, (when we got together for the 1st time in years for another concert event) - that IMO, Jeff Beck was the perhaps the greatest guitar player - through time - of all time. Constantly reinventing himself - constantly great - through 6?!! decades.
Beato did a similar themed video on Jeff a few months ago...

In 2002, we were in the middle of building our new house (I was basically the general and electrician)
Jeff Beck was appearing at the Madison Blues Fest, which we normally attended.
Time was short - we bought a day pass - got to the stage in time for Jeff, stayed for his performance, and (unfortunately) left as BB was taking the stage (we had seen BB several times in the previous couple years).
It was definitely worth the price of admission - and the only time I saw him live.
