Thats probably the only ERB over 7 strings that doesnt look like a monstrosity of some kind - I had to do a double take to make sure it actually had 12 strings! lol.

Simply amazing

Sorry its taken me a while.

Currently I'm having a local luthier install a 4 band Audere EQ. It had the aguilar obp3 in it, and I've never really liked that pre. The aguilar always sounds like an aguilar to me, it has that aguilar color that I just don't dig. So I'm waiting for it to come back to me. I'm stoked. :hyper:

But all variables considered; it has a single coil sound, a very deep low end (I believe thats from the Etimoe body wood - very simlar to ash), some amazing clarity and sweet treble. I'll have to wait till it gets back to get you a more detailed description. But I totally dig it and its extremely different from my all maple Ritter.

I noticed that you had it up for a possible trade. I'm glad you didn't do it.

I put a Aguilar pre in another of my basses with Barts and hated it. What I noticed with the Aguilar was all my mid control was completely over the top. It made everything run so hot that knocking back the volume and cutting the mids as well as bass and treble didn't help. After quite a while of working with the settings on my Eden WT800 I started to get something almost worth listening to but I'm not real fond of relying on my amp solely to get the tone I'm looking for, The amp should just be the icing on the cake and not the whole meal. It was just too much of a pain. Kept the barts and went with a bart pre and was much happier.

I love the Bart pups & pre setup that MTD uses, and aside from the tendency of the Roscoe to get a little Pingy on the high end I've learned to control it and love the tone. It's Bart pups and pre also.
I like what I hear from my Jerzy Drozd and the Bart pups & pre, I've noticed a pretty wide spectrum of tonality with this bass. The low is very deep and clear and yes the body wood has a great deal to do with it. The highs have a clarity that cuts thru without being harsh unless I really punch it. It's a blast to rip a solo with this bass.

Let me know how You like the Audere. I've heard a lot of good things about it.

Thankew. It's an Obsession Excellency V with Aguilar OBP-3 preamp. Spalted/burl/flamed top on an etimoe body. Three-piece maple neck with ebony fretboard. Ebony nut.

Neck width at nut: 17​/8​"
Neck width at 24th fret: 215​/16​"
Pickups: Jerzy Drozd JeDXS split-coil hum cancelling

Made in Spain
