OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! those are great pictures! most of those look like they are from the Quadrophenia tour, right? i guessed from the brass instrument hes playing. i want to have my own Little Manhattan someday

Those photos are AWESOME.
I saw the Who once only, at Madison Square Garden in 1973 on their Quadrophenia tour. I had tried, unsuccessfully, to get tix to Tommy at the Metropolitan Opera.
MSG was a great show.
The Live at Leeds reissue on 2 CD's is one of my favorite and most listened to CD's. I play along with some of it. I wore out the old LP version that did NOT include "Thomas".
This photo is my current computer wallpaper, from John's last tour....sadly...I found it online somewhere.....

it was a coincidence that a while ago i returned to the uk for xmas to see the folks.....and went shopping uptown ...somehow i ended up in shepherds bush and happend upon the who playing a gig in the empire....couldnt believe my luck when i managed to get a ticket .....
and so there i was watching the who and the ox on their home turf ..up the front of this tiny packed venue with two bags of shopping!! but it was a great gig...and great way for me to see the guy off.
ps...pete trashed his guitar during my generation!!.

Pino is not the bassist for The Who.
I don't know who is, except John.
I have no desire to see them without him.
Endless Wire was almost total crap.
The band seem blase about losing the greatest bassist that ever lived. Sod 'em.
I doubt they are blase about it at all. I've seen the Who 4 or 5 times (never with Moonie though,
) and they always put on one of the best shows I've ever seen. I saw them last November for the first time since Entwistle's passing. Yeah, The Ox left a huge vaccuum and the show wasn't quite the same. However, it was the first opportunity for my kids to experience a Who show. My kids were blown away. As we were walking out of the concert, my 15 yr old daughter (who hates everything) said "Why can't all bands be that good?". I'm just glad Roger and Pete are keeping the music (somewhat) alive and taking the show on the road for the new younger fans to experience. Even if it just gives a glimpse of what it used to be, the music still has the power and influence of Entwistle and that's worth carrying on as long as they can put out a great show.

that picture was of Johns last live performance with the Who, it was
at The Royal Albert Hall. the Live At The Royal Albert Hall cd has 4 songs from that show, and John was still playing like he always had.

those are the gigs that i like, where the band is right there and you can copy their amp settings on a piece of paper.... but the Who at Sheperds Bush! i bet they were having serious flashbacks.

What kind of guitar did Pete smash, that could narrow the time down. i wonder if no support means that they dont need wheelchairs?
Don't be anti-Status. I've read that the reason they no longer offer the Buzzard is because John Entwistle's son made a deal with Warwick that they would have exclusive rights to the name "Buzzard". Status is no longer permitted to produce the instrument.
