Yes im a fan, and the pickholder is there only becouse there are carved some letters in behind it.. i barely use pick, though pick, p bass and flatwounds sounds awsome.

i am a fan as well and i wish that i could go to Pine Knob and see Rush this summer. i had a pick holder in the form of a keychain that i hung on a tuner of my main bass dor a while. but the picks always ended up in my pocket so i stopped using it but i still keep it around in case i decide to use it again.

I guess I'm not much of a fan for anything as big as the BBC. The pirates had given us the music we wanted to hear and the BBC /government shut them down and replaced them with a very diluted version. Only John Peel came over as unchanged and stayed that way for 40 years.

Don't give up on the live music scene - around here it's all kicked off again with pubs abd clube sreplacing their usual DJ crap with live bands. 5 years ago there was no live music around here for 10 miles radius - now there's about 10 places doing regular live evenings. Who ever told DJs it was a talent to play recordings? A 5 year old can do that and have the sense to shut up. Maybe the demise of live music was our own fault - too loud. When you empty out half the punters in a bar because you're too loud you're not going to get invited back.

im hanging in there for live music. i am hoping to be a leader in the transition from boring DJs who steal music and waste space to bands that play good music and most of all, PLAY LOUD!

that solo was the very first solo that i heard. ahhhhh the memories..... *goes off and imagines that he is right where he used to sit and listen to this solo all the time* i love this solo. this solo got me to buy a Wah pedal.

it is really cool to show how John could fool anyone with what he did. when i first heard that solo, i was in awe. the things that John did in that solo were incredible. i was under the impression that John used a Wah pedal, when it was really his bass' Midrange knob, and there were several parts that were either Hipshot D-Tuner, or tapping that i thought were normal playing.

i can imagine! i think that his solos are really cool in that they are not Billy Sheehan type solos where each time John changes to a different technique, he lets you breathe a bit. with Billy, he goes from slapping to 3 fingers to tapping in one fluid motion. that is not as cool to me.

only 7 years ago was that solo. it was the RAH show. no matter when it was made, the video is awesome and the playing is still so far ahead of the bassists who worked with the guests that it really dont matter if it aint good in my mind. i love it for what it is.

I think the music video for it looks pretty stupid :p John looks so incredible bored (as he does in most of the music video's i have seen)
I need to get the "live at the Isle of Wight" and "The vegas job" DVD's.. i feel i might prefer the Vegas Job over RAH, since i dont have to hear those horrible singers (the goat(Eddie Vedder) and the tail pulled cat(Kelly Jones)..

I wonder how the 5:15 solo is on that?

Vegas Job has a super cool tone along with the RAH tone. Isle Of Wight is awesome! i used to watch that before i would prctice my school band instrument and i thought that watching Johns fingers would give me a new way to play the instrument that i was practicing.

i am having troubles with Vegas Job and my portable DVD player. i am watching the RAH dvd right now and right off i thought that Pete Townshend had a very different tone than when i saw the Who on September 29 2006. at RAH it was more like the 70s SG/Hiwatt.
