I have a amp on loan but The offer for the Carvin bass is above and beyond anything I've ever had anyone offer me.
I recently HAD to start accepting help from others. It doesn't surprise me though after seeing all the support and blessings that have been poured out into the community in the last few days.

@Staindbass, you are a true American brother. This is a SAD time but it's also a HAPPY time for a lot of us Joplinites. We lost several of our neighbors and friends. It's people like you and the guys and girls on TB that really want to help that make the world a little better in time of need!

Sorry for your loses, but I am just happy you and your family are alright, that is way more important than any bass or piece of gear. May nothing but good things happen for you from now on brother.

I know it's been said many times already, but I'll join the crowd--awesome! Way to go, Johnny. Kudos to others who have helped, too. TBers fuss and fight sometimes, but they have big hearts.

To the OP, Steve, I'm very sorry for your losses, but glad you made it out alive. Please be sure to handle things through PM, however, and I suggest you edit out your contact info from your post. Unfortunately, because of a previous incident, threads that wind up involving charitable contributions do get closed.:(

nice job andy ! here is a crappy pic, the flash made it look bad but there is hardly any scratches on it at all. it has locking sperzel tuners, ebony fretboard, ohsc, and the strings are new cuz i tried it in the studio. she is on the way and i will send the tracking #. i am a cat/animal lover, that is terrible news :( johnny a. staind

You're a good man, Johnny. I'm with you on the "animal lover" thing. They're part of the family, so losing them is incredibly difficult.

Sometimes I get a bit depressed about the "nature" of people, and then a thread like this comes along and really makes you realize that there are a whole lot of good people around. Thanks.

So sorry for breaking the rules and posting my address. I am new to Talk Bass. Been a member for awhile but never used it much til now.

There truely are good people in the world.
In Joplin right now it's a common thing to see police and ambulances from several other states, even TX and TN.
As well as so many voluntieers they don't have room for them all.

We are finished trying to salvage anything else from our lot now. I managed to salvage my '73 bass case today! It had been tough going to the old place and searching through the rubble. But we only have 2 more days before the start dozing.

I'm ready to start over now. I'm going to be practicing tonight (borrowed gear) for the 1st time since the tornado.

Thanks to all of you for your outpouring of support!!! I didn't expect this!
