Joplin Tornado: lost My Basses

Dude, I don't have much to offer, but I can offer this. I have a Hartke HA3000 that stays in clip mode. If you have someone that can work on it for you, You can have it for free. I will donate it to a brother in distress. Please send me an address to ship it to you and it is yours.

nice job andy ! here is a crappy pic, the flash made it look bad but there is hardly any scratches on it at all. it has locking sperzel tuners, ebony fretboard, ohsc, and the strings are new cuz i tried it in the studio. she is on the way and i will send the tracking #. i am a cat/animal lover, that is terrible news :( johnny a. staind

I am here in Springfield, myself and can not believe the devastation. The tonadoes missed my street by about 1 mile, but some of my friends were not so lucky. My heart goes out to everyone around here and in Joplin, who's suffering such catastrophic loss.
I, too am an animal lover and you have my sincerest condolences for your loss.
The outpouring of kindness and support here in Springfield is nothing short of awesome. It was so moving to read about johnny a. sending u a bass (as well as all the other wonderful people here offering you support). While I have never met Johnny, some of my friends around town have saod they've known him and from what I have been told he is a really good guy. I've heard only good things. My hat goes off to you, Johnny for ur kindness and generosity.
I have lived here all my life (and even had a brief 6-8 month stint playing bass with Aaron in The Clear back in 1989...) and it truly warms my heart to see such kindness all around me. I know these sentiments have been offered over and over but I just had to say it again myself. Johnny, you are a class act.

It's been said already but...What a man!

At the risk of sounding schmaltzy, it's acts like this that go towards making the world a better place.

God bless you staind bass!!!! Reading this brought tears to my eyes. In a world full of selfish self absorbed people, People like you remind me that the world is still full of wonderful caring people. What a wonderful thing to read in the morning!!:hyper:

My name is Steve. I graduated from Longmeadow in '86 and live in Sixteen Acres. I've been steadiliy playing in various bands in the area since the mid to late 80's (The Detonators, The Clear, Savor, Third Degree, Radio Knights, Les Rios, and others). I've been in the local band Out Of The Blue for the past 8 years, now.
I would absolutely love to be a part of a Western Mass bass club. Please keep me posted and let me know if there is anything I can do to help with it in any way.

Steve

I was wondering when a post like this was going to appear. I am from texas and abunch of guys from our church went up there, me included, and we drove past glory days music, only to see it pretty much destroyed with orange amps strewn about randomly and drum kits laying about. Nice place, I remember visiting before the storm, genuine guys. Anyways that made me start thinking of all the fellow musicians that had to lose gear. Sorry to hear for your loss, know you are loved, you've got a whole church in Texas praying for Joplin and its people.

WOW! I haven't checked TB in a while. I'm right down the road from you in Bella Vista. I'm the bass player for LaFuSo (lafuso.net) and our singer lives up there. We didn't hear from him for three days and we were freaking out!!! I'm glad you are okay. Spending the night hunkered down in my crawl space of my poorly built house, I contemplated what it would be like to loose everything. I'm sure I don't have enough insurance to cover all my gear. I just can't imagine.

I've got a late 80's GK 400RB that I was going to sell on Ebay. The thing sounds great but I just never use it anymore. I would rather it go to you. If you want it send me a message and we can hook up.

John

I knew this was a great group of guys and girls, but this thread shows the kindness and humanity there really is when you strip down all the bullstein and politics and get down to a human level and where caring and compassion means more then anything. Sorry for your four legged family member loss, and thankful you made it through ok. Everyone who offered help, props to you. You are all good people! Class group here.

Thank You so much for coming up here and helping. It's people like you that make the difference in a bad situation. Most of the ones that were hit feel helpless and confused and guys like you help BIG time.

I lived 2 blocks from Dave and Ben and thier store Glory Days Music. I lived one block from Cool Guitars and Main Street Pawn (Vintage Guitars).
The 1st thing I thought when I saw my axes in pieces was if those guys were alive and OK.
I went to high school with all those guys.

Again thank you for all your prayers and support!!!
