Joplin Tornado: lost My Basses

Some friends of mine just did a huge benefit concert for tornado relief efforts.
Now that I think of it, there was the low end for Nashville thing after the flood. Maybe someone could get something like that together to help our fellow musicians in need.
In any case I'm glad you got out okay and best wishes for the future.

To the OP....I survived tornadoes in April 1974 (Louisville KY). They are scary as hell and make you feel really small. My heart and prayers go out to you and everyone in Joplin and especially for those who lost loved ones. I have been through Joplin many times and it is a fine community. God Bless you all.

I have a amp on loan but The offer for the Carvin bass is above and beyond anything I've ever had anyone offer me.
I recently HAD to start accepting help from others. It doesn't surprise me though after seeing all the support and blessings that have been poured out into the community in the last few days.

@Staindbass, you are a true American brother. This is a SAD time but it's also a HAPPY time for a lot of us Joplinites. We lost several of our neighbors and friends. It's people like you and the guys and girls on TB that really want to help that make the world a little better in time of need!

Wow - it's really great to see some genuine decency and goodness being demonstrated on the part of the TB community. Frankly, though, I'm not all that surprised! Steve - I drove through Joplin a week-and-a-half before the tornado hit and I was struck by how friendly the folks round your way were (not to mention how beautiful a lot of Missouri is). Hang in there, brother!

There's no need to further echo the same thoughts again, but I'm surprised that nobody has suggested including your basses and amps when filing a claim with your homeowners/renters insurance carrier. It may take a while to get processed, what with all the claims in the area, but that's why you pay for it - life's unexpected unfortunate moments.

My wife made me create a spreadsheet of all our valuables with photos, descriptions, and serial numbers in case something like that happens and we have a loss.
