JP Basses 12-string all finished!

Amazing work. I look forward to clips being posted of it being played.

I'm in awe of the tuning/string gauges. It's hard to think abou that low C# being 2 of my E strings [i play a 95 gauge E].

That's awesome.

IS the neck warped or do the fanned frets make it loke like that?

(i read that a on-purpose-warped neck has actually some advantages, but forgot which).

The fanned frets can create an optical illusion when photographed making the neck appear to be twisted. This bass has a wide fan,so it can really look twisted.I am pretty sure JP would not spend all this time making a bass with neck problems. Although someone might think people who play such crazy guitars are....warped.

One advantage with warped necks-they are great for fending off Tiger sharks.

lol Garry

Builders who try building such crazy guitars might be wraped too !!!

the neck isn't twisted but the headstok is, intentionally of course. It's glued within 2 angles.

Peace,
JP

very nice job JP !
though, I've been looking at the pics at least half a dozen times and I am still unable to figure out how my rather small hands could fret on this bass.
and yes, 8 useless strings for me on this one.
but once again that's an awesome luthier's job

cheers

Well I didn't want to include the luthiers, but i suppose they would have to be warped as well!:hmm:
Are you running in stereo? Is the bass passive? Is there also a cell phone built in?:)
