Hi Jule, I don’t know what cable I received from the dealer I bought my Monique 700 from. I should probably get a recommended cable just in case. Is the Tongyan E156153 14/3 model mentioned in a previous post the right one to get? Or is it one of many products available? Help!

I am not familiar with the Tongyan. If your Monique 700 has the IEC it would be best to find an IEC cable with 14 gauge wire. If it has a PowerCon AC connector (blue and roundish) those are available at your local shop or on the web.

GSS 1000W Sumo power amp or GSS Baby Sumo are affordable hi-fi (neutral) power amps, made in France by a very nice builder.

I think if you have a good power amp or section on a head you are all set. I’ve owned a glock soul and heart rock as well as Jules M700 and 2500.

I generally use either a powered berg cab (IP112) or I use the power section of my Acoustic Image Focus 2RIII.

the AI has a similar form factor to the M700, a quality power section and serves as a great back up.

I LOVED Monique through a Glock Blue Soul and Berg CN cabs. It was just too much for me at the time when not gigging. Hands down my favorite amp tone I’ve ever had though. Definitely hoping to own a Monique again someday.

I'm lucky enough to have Glock cabs to go with the Soul. So nice but the Bergs are no slouches either.

I’ll vouch for this rig. At a GTG I played @basshack’s Rob Allen Mouse -> Monique Birdcage Pre -> Glock amp -> Berg CN112. Amazing.

I since bought my own Mouse, Monique M700 & Berg CN212. A Superb rich & organic tone.

The Glock cabs sounded divine…. but the Berg was lighter in weight & very easy to lift/cart so it won for me as a busy gigging muso with back/neck/arm pain.

Hi Michael, I’ve got the powered 210 so Monique usually runs it and nicely but it lives at the shop at present and last time we ran it there was some funny noises, like a speaker was failing. With lockdown I haven’t done anything about it but Monique and it is my Church rig.

It's a bit hard during lockdown to get stuff like this sorted. Have you tried contacting Wayne?
