I've bought a couple of these for my Simone & 500, and my Khan. Someone criticized my recommendation of them as being cheap junk knockoffs. I think they're well made and do the job quite nicely. If you are treating your equipment like the gorilla did the Samsonite luggage, then nothing can protect your equipment.

I have a new dovecage coming next week. Can anyone recommend a hard shell, padded case solution that is a good snug and protective fit with the dovecage? Thanks!

Years ago, I had Anvil build hard shell cases for the Dove Cage Monique. They were very good cases, but a bit pricey. I have put the drawing that was used for assembly of these cases on the juleamps website. My final notes are there too.

The case could be built by anyone with a shop (parts available at Reliable Hardware Company E-Commerce Web Site), or you could give the drawing to Anvil or any other case builder. The interior foam was nicely cut to hold the Dove Cage in place. Dimensions for the foam are also in the drawing.

Hi, Jule organised the case to transport Monique to the great southland. It's one from Innerspace Cases and the only numbers I can see on it, to help identify which one is 6364. The phone number on it is (800) 806-7689 and their web site is www.InnerspaceCases.com

It fits both the Dovecage and Bamboo Enclosure nicely with no slop but that means no space for cables in there as well.

Peter, thanks again Question for you...When I look up the iM2275, it looks like the foam is already pre-cut for a particular camera. Is that how you bought it? Or did you shape the foam to fit Monique? Thanks.

The foam was scored, 1 inch squares in sheet layers and I removed what I needed to layer by layer to make it fit

Julie just had me go to eBay and buy a Tongyan E156153 14/3 cable. Mine came with one I purchased it from TBer Nostatic.
I just wanted one as a backup.

a bad one can hurt, when I was using the power amp as well I bought a quality Y IEC cable on the female end so I had a single cable going to the wall from Monique and the M700. It introduced all sorts of noise and distortion issues in the wrong environment. Don’t use a thin gauge cable that comes with crappy electronics and you’ll be good.

If you are in the US/Mexico/Canada you receive a PowerCon cable with the Monique 700. Earlier it was IEC. Outside the US, because of the difficulty getting the right connector for the local AC, I do not provide the power cable.

Over time, I'm finding that the PowerCon cable is becoming a standard. They handle 30% more current than the IEC. And they can not fall out of the socket or get snagged by a well meaning person in a black shirt and screw up a performance.

I have tried "locking" IEC cables and they did not fill me with confidence.

Not all snake oil in the focus on power cables. Certainly some. In the real world, it is all about handling more current without generating heat in that power cable. Pretty simple: More surface area designed into the power cable connectors and larger diameter wire = more power (current) that stays cool.
