The bulb is just a regular incandescent (yellow). The colour comes from the jewelled cover which I suppose could be unscrewed and replaced with the colour of your choice.

A bit off topic, but I got a lump in my throat when I saw Chef's picture in the thread menu. Still missed by many of us.
A dead man posting threads is kinds bizarre, truthfully. There has to be a better way to deal this kind of thing. Perhaps, the OP who started the very first thread should be the one who's the "starter" of subsequent threads.

I took a break from TB for a bit. I had no idea Chef passed. I remember him well. We traded a few basses.
I've read the last several pages and really like all that I have learned. I especially like that Jule posts here. I ordered mine last week and I am looking forward to getting to hear what the Monique can do. I really doubt that I will ever play with a full rig again, but never is long time. I feel pretty spoiled by the FOH team with which I work. That and studio keep me busy enough. Should that day come, I will be sure to follow the advice for power amps and cabs I've read here as I know nothing about electronics etc... although I do know what sounds good. Can't wait...
OK... I know I am preaching to the choir, but wow! Can't say enough about the ease of use and how great the tone is with the Monique.
Used the Monique 700 last weekend at a medium sized venue on north fork of Long Island. Sounded lush, clear, and full with passive 1982 Wal Pro I bass. To experience Monique is quite special.
It’s as important as my bass or choice of strings. Love it
I would actually argue that the amplifier and cabinet(s) are more important than the bass. I’ve found a great amp and cab will make a mediocre bass sound really good, but a mediocre amp & cab will still sound mediocre even with a great bass.
It’s ok Pete. We all know you were blinded by Monique!
