Jule Amps Monique part 5

I have to tell y'all as the first guy with the Monique 700 that it is by far the loudest , Highest headroom, sweetest most badass
amp I have owned. Completely over the top in all areas.......
I am done with amps ( accept for the dovecage version)
I do love those, "except fors."

Monique DC goes corporate.

Fun outdoor acoustic gig this afternoon with a surprising number of musicians in attendance. Funny.... my Fodera, the singers very expensive custom acoustic guitar and our guitarist's Taylor didn't get a comment. At least a half dozen comments on Monique though. "That is the coolest looking amp I have ever seen" comes to mind....

Just got the Bamboo Monique/Mini. Had a couple questions.

How often do do you use/need the Fan on on the Mini? Do you run it all the time/when ever the amp is on?

For those with a Bamboo Monique & Mini, what kind of case or bag do you use? I'm interested in a single bag or single case option that would hold both Monique and the Mini. On Jule's there is a bag and a case...but they appear to be just for Monique.

There was a previous discussion regarding the different colors of the lights on the Monique and Mine (one blue the other white). I think recall someone swapping both out for green lights? Maybe I'm OCD but think I would like do get them both the same color.

Thanks in advance.

I generally leave the Minnie fan on unless practicing alone quietly. I believe the "off" setting is intended for quiet studio operation.

Not sure if changing the lens will work out for you without a lot more work. Both of my blue lens/jewels are identical but they look different due to the Mnnie having a LED light and Monique a regular bulb.

Seems to me it should be on unlessin studio where there's a live mic

Regarding the fan,to be it sounds fairly loud. In a rock situation, between songs and in in the more quiet parts of tunes, you'd never hear it. In a more quite setting (say coffee house/semi acoustic/lower volume gig) it would be noticeable..though perhaps not as necessary as the Mini isn't being pushed. Just wondering why the fan isn't as silent as the modern PC fans?

So upon first listen I notice a clarity in the high frequencies that is unexpected. Normally with running Monique into the Ice Power module of my tone hammer the top end is slightly dark
but now with the 700 I find that the warmth we are all used to is there but the whole picture has way more articulation and impact. The unit should be call the 1200 because is stupid loud!
I drove my flex to its mechanical limit by 8 o'clock on the line level dial. Also it must be noted that power is quick and controls the speaker in a way I have never experienced in a bass amp.
Notes explode from the cabinet and stop on a dime. The power section in this amp is no small upgrade! The Hypex module is ruler flat sounding, Quick, with clear low end that will destroy
a speaker that is not up to the task. The midrange and high end are all Monique but somehow more 3 D. All in all this is the finest amp I have played by no small margin. The output of this amp
is at least as loud if not louder than the Puma 900 we had over when Jake Wolf and I hung out.
More to come when I get this monster on a gig!
Sometimes in the past, I have found it hard to control a very high powered rig at low volumes. The tone seems to suffer when trying to tame a very high output. Any issues there?

Fans are ugly, big, and difficult to implement. They do work.
The implementation of the 700 watt is done so that the entire chassis of the Rack Mount and Tardis (the top not so much) is a very large heat-sink. The same "trick" is designed into the Combo Monique 700 and the stand-alone. In the two current packages two small fans were used. Now, a single 80mm (much larger) fan does the job. The reason was that when you run two fans (no matter how quiet) of the same rpm the resultant mechanical vibration (both in tune) is much greater than one would expect. So one larger fan is even quieter. One learns.

Some rack enclosures are tight as to ventilation. No movement of air anywhere but at the back. In those situations, I would expect the fan to be in use all the time. The back is where Monique has the vents. In the case of the Tardis it has vents all over it since it is a desktop.

The fan does have an on/off on the back for my friends with much better hearing than I.

It has not been an issue.....
Jule has changed the taper on the volume pot so it ramps up slower. The amp sounds stunning at all volumes.
Yes. This will be a change for those of us with Monique already. The Line Level Out Control in Moniques without the 700 watt amplfier will continue to be a Linear potentiometer. Straight up is 1/2 (makes sense). To make the 700 watt come on more gently a Logarithmic potentiometer will replace the linear one. This means straight up with the amp is only about 1/3. Nothing is lost in the change, everything is still there, but stuff happens in different positions.

The power of this amp is not diminished at lower volume levels. It is not "weak" on the bottom or the top. This is a bit difficult to explain, in part because we are all used to amplifiers having sweet and not-so-sweet spots. This amp is pretty much a full speed freight train that makes music. It does not stop.
