My first instinct is to say smallsound/bigsound, but unless I could wrangle a chorus-type sound out of the No Memory delay, I'd have to look elsewhere. Plus there is the issue of a compressor - they don't have one.

Diamond has my fave compressor and a chorus, but their dirt options are lacking (at least for bass), so that's a no go.

Aguilar is a definite contender, with compressor, chorus, octaver, and dirt. I'd take them without hesitation, but...

...I think my first place choice would have to be Empress. My second favourite compressor, some really good dirt pedals in multiple flavours, a nice boost, a chorus and other modulation options if I wanted to branch out, and top notch quality made in Canada to boot! So yeah, if I was forced to go single brand, it would be Empress.

I only use a BDI21 and a limiter. If I had to be a brand loyalist I would step up to a Tech 21 VT Bass DI. I would then have to play better, 'cuz no limiter.

If we're going to go with just one brand, make mine Empress!

Now if Darkglass only made a compressor/limiter, I might change my tune...

I'm another vote for Empress! I'd just need them to put together an Envelope Filter. But to be honest, I'd sacrifice an EF for the rest of their products.

I could go one of 2 ways.

Option 1: Aguilar. My Tonehammer and the Agro have served about 75% of my needs, and I wouldn't shy away from the octave or comp either.

Option 2: Zoom MS-60B. That's it, I've been able to get SO much use out of this pedal that it's crazy. Put 2 of them down and I think I could cover almost anything.

This gets the job done for me, but I confess that I don't see effects as indispensable for bass as for guitar.

The Pitchfactor/h9 has a fuzz in the Octaver algo. It's not great, and I've played mooer dirts that have more life in them. But it's there...

I'd choose Source Audio for a 1 brand board. They just do everything right for me.

For my solo work I could easily do Polytune -> HOF Reverb -> Ditto Looper.

Using a toneprint enabled amp also gives up to two more effects on top of that such as an OD and an Octave.

For shear diversity, it's hard to fault...
EHX - Quirky-to-utilitarian and all points in between

What is it about Diamond dirt? I don't know any guitarists that use Diamond for dirt, yet so many other great pedals such as the Memory Lane, Comps and Halo Chorus. They've got 6 dirt pedals now (4 drives, 2 boosters), yet I can't put my finger on the lack of appeal for myself personally. Poor marketing? No word of mouth/buzz... I read the descriptions for Diamond's dirt offerings and it doesn't induce GAS like reading the descriptions for Fairfield or Empress (Dr. Scientist is in a whole other class for product descriptions).
