Just Got Back From The Tattoo Parlor

I didnt call tatoos and epidemic, I was speaking of the proliferation of pointless tattoos in my neck of the woods. I agree with what your saying BlissHead, but you have to trust me on this one. I live in one of the most populated beach communities in California. If you dont have a tattoo and your hanging out in Mission Beach, you are definently not the norm. Your right though, its never safe to make an assumption.... Is it OK if I change it to a generalization? ;)

A cholo is a spanglish slang word for a gangster. It was originally a label for Chicano gang members, but it has become a label for a whole sub-culture.

Yep generalization is much more on point ;) !

I've really been wanting a tatoo for quite a while now. I'm thinking of a Jazz Cat Playing a bass, he'd be standing on the lower left part of my back-just above my boxor line. I'm worried about what will happen as my body grows or I gain/lose weight (since I'm only 15). What is the likeliness that it will stretch or get all mushed together, or anything along those lines for that matter? I don't want to get this beautiful tatoo and then six years from now have it look like the cat was run over by a train...

Big Mission Beach has got to be the world headquarters for super lame people....

I am so glad I now live in North County. It's a little more civilized up here...

Cool, I grew up in North County, Live in PB and work in Otay. It's true though, about the out-of-towners. I live in a 6 unit apartment complex and Me, The Wife, and a guy from El Cajon are the only people with CA license plates. I saw the Dogtown and Z Boys movie a while ago and it made me envy the "Locals Only" scene in Venice Beach during the 60s and 70s.

Big Ted....I live in the upper northern part of Vista. think Avocados and horses... Yea PB seems to be the landing point for people from out of state, it's also the home of the kooks and major traffic ...So do you surf? How about those waves yesterday and today...I went out at warm waters in Carlsbad. It was over head with bigger sets going double over head. I bet BP point has been going off..Where did you catch the Dogtown & Z boys movie? I grew up skating and surfing in that era, those were the days... Tony Alva ruled!!

What's that quote about tattoos? It's something like, "What's the difference between a guy with tattoos and a guy without? The guy with the tattoos doesn't care that the other guy doesn't have any."

A guy (or girl) is a loser because they get a tattoo, because "everyone" has one? I'm more inclined to think that if you really want some ink, but don't get any because you don't want people to think you're trendy, you're the loser. You're the one letting other people dictate what you should and shouldn't do. You're the same person that stops listening to your favorite band of fifteen years, because they suddenly become popular.

I hope some of you anti-inkers don't get your asses beat by some "tattooed freak" someday. That would be a real shame.
