just joined!!!

hi, just joined the community.

i'm not sure how all this works but i'll get the hang of it.

i live in england and have been playing the bass for 20 years, that makes me feel old just writing it.

looking forward to discussions, trading etc.

anyone with any advice on the forum just let me know.

There are plenty of us Brits on this forum and we always receive a warm welcome from the other (mostly USA) users. A few language differences arise now and then, such as; lush (means something else entirely), fortnight, eating at a greasy spoon or putting your gear in the boot. Now there's an idea for a thread! Welcome aboard from south Wales.

Welcome to the forum. It's one if the best communities out there, IMHO. I've joined forums for just about everything I've ever been involved in (a.d.d.... I tend to have a new interest every few hours) and take it from me this is one of the better groups of people to be a part of.

There is lots of knowledge and rarely any undeserved drama. This site has been great for me and im sure you will love it. And the post per minute rate is just wicked awesome.

Cheers.

The mindless junk on here is fantastic!

:D

Have fun!
Indeed, and it is backed up by indisputable scientific evidence. e.g. 10" drivers can't sound as deep as 15" and be careful you don't underpower them or they will be ruined, a good amp can output more watts than the wall socket that powers it, certain makes of cables make your bass sound better and you need to choose the correct amp for the genre you play. Tough luck if you play metal - the best gear for that hasn't been invented yet.

how do i become a supporting member?

mescalito? because i'm a huge hunter thompson fan too.

i disagree sneakypete on the issue of metal bass gear. i play metal (in one of it's many forms) and as far as i'm concerned the best metal gear was invented in the late '60's, perfected in the '70's, only to be ruined in the present day......SVT anyone?

i've got a trace elliot V6 too which i love but you can't beat ampeg.
