Just Ordered a Gold Foil Jazz directly from Fender

It always trips me out how on these threads when people are like "I'd buy that bass in hot second if...[it was a different bass]."

The followup is that if the manufacturer listens and then builds exactly what they ask for ("The Homer"), their alternators or refrigerators will all break simultaneously, and they won't buy it either.

I really love the sound of this bass in demos. Wish there was a MIA version. I've had 2 basses with MIM necks and they needed weekly truss rod adjustments. don't wann put $1300 into something with those issues. Can anyone see what style of truss rod adjustment is on it at the heal?

If there was a US-made version with reinforced trussrod and and easily accessible adjustment I'd buy it instantly.

It kinda sounds like the Cabronita Precision from the demo I watched. Interesting stuff!

One pickup, in the same (or close to the same) position, yeah, they're gonna sound pretty similar.

My Jazzmaster came with knurled chrome Tele/P knobs. But you may be right.

You should buy 3 and scavenge the mics from 2 of em. I'll take em off your hands afterwards so you dont have to drive all the way to the junkyard to dump em

I really like the look of these, and the demo I heard sounded cool. Hopefully they're crazy successful and we see a Squier version in the future.

I just pulled the trigger on one this morning as well. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there is a 51 single coil under that cover lol

I will be switching out the knobs as well but that bound ebony neck with lollipops was a nice touch aka lets use the neck template from the 1966 Jazz Bass

Beautiful bass… I’m looking forward to hearing a review. However, it doesn’t completely look like a Jazz Bass; it’s missing a pickup and the pickup it has is in the P position.

Pickups are named after they basses they originated in, not the other way around. It's 100% a Jazz bass.

Fender has decided that the body shape determines what you call a bass (or guitar), regardless of pickup configuration. That decision is completely arbitrary - if you want to do their way, or do it differently, there is no law that dictates what is "right".

Well it not be reinforcing it well in my one MIM fender neck. I'm talking about the graphite rods that are in the MIA series. I'm pickup about setup, so I'm not sure about the neck on this thing.

Bought one. Love it! Definitely not muddy sounding, more bite than in the Empire Music YouTube review. The tone knob has a very smooth taper yielding a useful range of sounds with right hand technique. Build quality is nearly flawless on mine, the only detail being some overspray on the sides of the nut.

Honeymoon period, obviously, but I foresee this bass being as useful as it is gorgeous!
