JUST ORDERED A SEI 7 !!

Nah, it was cool. They posted the pics on the Sei site after I had collect it !!

So here she is at last !! I'm an extremely proud Sei owner, despite the 3 hiccups along the way which made the wait a bit longer.

As you can see from this pic of the 12th fret inlay, the birds-eye 'board is quite stunning :hyper: :hyper:

While I was 'down south' a great mate of mine took some pics as well, which will not doubt be much better than my attempts !! I'll get the CD containing the pics in the next couple of days as apprently e-mailing them would lower the quality.

Needless to say, I am over-the-moon with this instrument and it sounds as good as it looks :hyper: :hyper:

The inlay came out great. It's the first time anything that I've done with a pen looks artistic. The inlay was laser-etched into mother-of pearl by Martin Sims (of Sims LED fame).

The pics which my mate took will show the detailing a lot better. He was moving lamps about during Jezebel's photo shoot so it all looked quite impressive...

It just the level of detail and the quality of the woodwork which is outstanding. Also, I can't get over how punchy the bass sounds. Moving the pickup back that 15mm has put it in the perfect place to act as a thumbrest as well as doing it's usual job.

I'd say it's medium low. I like to have a bass that fights back a bit rather than taking no effort to play. I've just measured the action at the 12th at 3/32" on the B and 2/32" on the top F.

The strings are DR's and it's the first time that I've used them, but I'm very impressed so far. Gauges are 25, 30, 45, 65, 85, 105, 130.

Thats a stunning bass, the shape just sucks up the 7 strings and makes them look normal. Great choice of woods the lace wood works really well never really been a favorite of mine but on there it looks great.

Been looking in the topic on basstalk aka bassworld every day to see if pics came to light very worth the wait bet your thrilled.

Thanks for your complements on the bass. Only because of your post have I found the new Basstalk site. :D I've been trying to go to the site, but have only found a screen with some techy text on it !!

Yup, it's strung B to F. I haven't tried DR before, in fact I've been using Elites for years and not tried other brands. I'm really pleased with the DR's so far, I just hope that they last a long time...:bassist:

that is a little bit higher than i would of expected but if thats what works for you great, im really into DR's as well, i just bought 10 sets of hibeams 40-120 from the states, that should probably last me about six months or so. worked about £16 a set plus shipping which is unbelievable!

Geez, that's cheap strings !! The bass plays great with them. I'm just hoping I don't have to change them too often :D

I took Jezebel for her first outing into Glasgow today. I know some of the guys who work in the local guitar shops and all have said to bring in the Sei when I could.

Needless to say she got rave reviews from the staff in both of the shops I went into. Some guys were even taking pictures with their phones !! All wanted to know what the construction was, brand of pickup etc and all were absolutely amazed at the quality of the craftmanship. The LED's got a few ooohs as well...

Some of the guys in Sound Control had seen Seis before courtesy of Kevin Lindsey. Ollie and the guys downstairs say say 'hi' Kevin and are looking forward to seeing your Sei again. Apparently, you know something about the whereabouts of the Sei guitar too... :ninja:

All the people who work in these shops see custom Fenders & Gibsons, PRS, Tylers et al every day yet a Sei bass drew such a great reaction...

7 maybe if you send the guy a message he can sort you out a few 7 string sets, he managed to sort me out 10 sets in a few days, ive found its good to get a few at a timer as they take a week or two to turn up.
