Just ordered my Dr. Bass cab

I certainly don't anticipate any challenges with volume! I'm very curious about any changes I may have to make to the equalization settings outdoors v. indoors.

So far, the 2260 definitely responds differently than my acoustic suspension (sealed) 2 x 12 and 1 x 15 cabinets in terms of both mid- and high-frequency response and low-frequency damping; I'm still messing with EQ settings.

Time will tell...

DHL just delivered my 2260, undamaged as well. AWESOME! I can't wait to get it home tonight and fire it up. There will be bass in my neighborhood TONIGHT! I will post pics ASAP (because, of course, it doesn't really exist until then...).

You should e-mail or PM Tom Bowlus. He has a/b'd just about every cab in existence. Well, maybe not every cab, but a whole bunch. You can also check out a number of his comparisons at his blog (http://bowlusblog.blogspot.com/). FWIW, I bought an amp from Tom and told him about my plans to get the 2260. He spoke very highly about the Dr Bass cabs.

Out of curiosity, what did Tom recommend to drive your 2260?

So far, I'm as happy as a pig in, er, excrement, driving my 2260 with a Carvin B-1500 :D

I have tremendous respect for Tom's opinions and greatly appreciate his generosity in sharing his observations and experience. We've discussed both brands recently (though not a comparison of these two models) and I assumed he would post or contact me directly if he's made the comparison. I'd already checked and neither model appears on the currently-owned or "for sale" lists on his blogspot (excepting an IP-322 prototype), but we all know that doesn't mean he hasn't owned one or both in the past.

I was also hoping for responses from anyone else who had considered both cabinets and actually compared them. Comparing these cabs seems logical to me and I assume I wasn't the first to think of it. Has anyone out there compared the Dr. Bass 2260 and the Bergantino HT322?

Again, thanks in advance for whatever information you're willing to share.

I bought a Hughes and Kettner Bass Base 600 from Tom's "everything must go sale." It runs something like 840W @ 2 0hms, 650W @ 4ohms and 400W at 8ohms. I'll post a review of it with the 2260 after I get a chance to fire them up together.

Sorry if I came off as a tool. :( I just wish I had the embarrassment of riches that some around here have to be able to A/B so many great amps together. Your question is valid, and I too would be interested in hearing the comparison.

We also have a new Concert series which we will be coming out with shortly, included is our new CS 1220 which is a 3-way configuration with 1-12, and 2-10's. Here is a picture of the prototype.

And as far as construction time goes, we are consistently getting all cabs out in 4 weeks or less, many sooner, and we are starting to build an inventory for immediate delivery.

Howdy, folks! Sorry for not chiming in sooner. I have not had the pleasure of trying the 2260, but Marc's new designs are looking really great, and I was already a fan of his older work. :cool:

Greg, I hope that the BassBase 600 treats you well, and I hope to hear that new Dr. Bass cab of yours sometime! :)

I have new pictures of my 2260, but can't seem to upload them. :mad: I wonder if TB is having a problem or something.

Anyway, I tried it out last night (low volumes...my kid was sleeping). I loved it. The tone was just great. I can't wait to get the wife and the kid to run some errands so I can light it up. :D
