Kalium Alternatives

I love Kalium Strings. Love everything about them, but lately it's been taking longer and longer to get strings....I'm still waiting on strings ordered on the 3rd to be shipped...I understand things happen but I've got the biggest gig in my life in 2 days that I don't have fresh strings for because I didn't order more than a month in advance...

That aside, I'm taking this opportunity to expand my horizons, as Kalium/Circle K's are the only string I've used for over 3 years now....What else is out there for me? Anything comparable/similar properties?

Thank you for the contribution I didn't think of going down to Guitar Center and buying out the Ernie Ball Slinky Section
Or you could buy one Ernie Ball set, one daddario set, one DR set, see what you like, and then you'll have decided based on your preference what you want to use for the biggest gig of your life.

Or be swayed by a dozen varying opinions from strangers.

Either way, best of luck.

This situation isn't as dire as "oh no I have no strings", I'd be perfectly fine with rocking a set of DR's for the night it's not a life or death thing, more of a venting of disappointment I'm not going to have my favorite sound, and became a jumping off point of "hey, what else is out there along this line" kind of thing...

If you are looking for a fairly conventional set of strings (see: if you don't need crazy guages or lengths, such that Kalium can provide), which feature balanced tension and feel, I would recommend Dunlop Superbrights or Fodera strings.

Superbrights sound great, feel great, last, and are low cost.

Fodera's are an interesting string. The way they vibrate is somehow more controlled and predictable, than any string I have ever used. They are flexible, but still feel positive. Whereas superbirghts can flop on some basses. Unfortunately, Foderas can feel a little grabby on your fingertips. and the price is higher. Another intersting note is that the Stainless Steel Foderas seem to sound warmer and more "dry" than the nickels!

Kalium balanced tension hybrid strings are my favorites, but i've used DR Sunbeams for years before i tried the K's.
I have heard good things about Curt Mangam (spelling?) rw's too.
