Kappalite coaxials!!

Last week I ran my Eleven Rack with a Marshall JCM800 amp model thru the effect return of my Peavey Alpha bass tube amp, connected to the Peavey 1516 cab. OMG it was shaking the house. Surprisingly I have to cut some highs with the graphic eq but I suspect it's because of the room. I will do a second test in a bigger space and from there I will decide if I try a Kappalite 15" with a tweeter. I'm surprised to get such a "relatively flat sound" out of a tube bass rig. I good parametric eq would have been useful to cut some frequencies.

Sound wise does this driver have the typical Eminence 2k gank or is it a little smoother?
How is the low end? Better xmas than the straight 3015.

the frequency graph shows a scoop in upper mids. sounds like Chris thinks its got a vintage vibe. Looks promising, have a 2.5 cuft cab with 10" ducts with no tweeter cut out. May pull the trigger.

After getting the cx fully loosened up I compared it to the stock driver. The cx goes lower, higher and is more smooth, very similar to the voicing of an Ampeg 8x10. The stock Ampeg driver has more of a 2khz peak. In the end, I’m going to stick with the stock driver because that bit of ganky ugliness is what cuts through in a mix.

Let me know if you decide to sell the CX, I might jump in.
