I must say the thunderbird is a rather nice bass, but I would rather take a ripper. No matter how strange they look. The tone is there man.

I love Eb-0s P-bass' and Jazz bass'.
I want a Eb-0 so bad but I have to buy a new amp, and Jazz' are to much money.

Thanks for the comments everyone! Wal basses do fit this category IMHO. I also have a matching Mach I four-string that I need to photograph soon. For those who are gassin', the potential is there to get one that is quite heavy or has a peculiar neck, so I was twice lucky. Be careful out there.
For me, the preamp and pickups are what make Wal indespensible and worthy of the "kick-ass" category.

Here is my DeArmond Pilot Pro V (One on the right, the one on the left is a guitar). This thing is pretty killer, I love it

if offered an even swap... mine for that... I'd turn it down BUT that for sure a "Kick Ass Bass"
I can only imagine how intense it looks in person!
