KICK DRUM MIC is dead

Hello People, not sure where this would fit in so move it if you have to.
I have a CAD D12 Dynamic Kick Drum Microphone, (I had it for about a year and a half) that we use for our live show. It out of the blue just stopped working? It was not dropped or anything crazy. I have switch the cables out on it 3 times and it is just dead??? Has anyone had the same situation with this microphone just stop working? If so, let me know what you think may have happen and how to fix it? Thanks RTS

It is a $100.00 mic. Probably not worth fixing.

unless it's something actually fixable, like a busted wire from the XLR jack part to the internal stuff, then yeah, there's no real fixing it anyway.

some companies will "rebuild" them at a cost that's a little less than buying it new again (i know shure does.)

Thanks people just thought it strange that it would just drop dead under normal use!

Why? The mic is not a condenser microphone.

yeah, my mistake. We run phantom to all but amps.

You run condenser mics on the kicks, snare, etc.?

OP, have you opened up the mic?
Checked to see if anything is obviously broken/shorted/etc.?

If it's not a easy solder fix, it's probably best to buy another mic.

Call 'em up and ask em what it will cost to fix.

I'm a fan of the PR40 and e901.

No not yet I dropped off the equip at our storage place and haven't seen it for two weeks. I will bring it home with me on Sat night and crack it open Sun.
