Ironically, guys who say that are the ones who usually end up with their 2 1/2 kids packed into a minivan on their way to coach little-league baseball :)

At 18, I said I despised children and would never have any. "Wait a few years, you'll see." everyone says...

Now, at 26, I think I am even more nauseated by crotch-monsters than I was at 18. Of course, I get the same response: "Oh, just wait, by 30, you'll want kids, 35 for sure."

No, no, no. I don't just "not want children"... I haaaaate kids. So much. I cannot express how much I absolutely despise them. People think I joke when I refer to them as crotch-maggots or crotch-monsters, but I really, REALLY am disgusted by children.

Now, people often say, but Crispy! YOU were a child once!

Sure, I was a baby, a toddler, and a kid. All necessary functions required to become an adult. But, like defecating, just because it is natural does not mean I have to revel in it.

Kids. Gross. Seriously.

Never, ever. I cannot express how much I hate babies and small children. And large children. And teens. If at 60, I could adopt a 30 year old willing to support me in my old age, I MIGHT consider having children.

I am acually considering getting a vasectomy to avoid any unplanned crotch-monsters.

When you are old and living alone, eating cat food and waiting for them to take you to the government sponsored senior home wit the sadistic workers, you might feel differently. :hiding:

Don't forget, you reap what you sow, baby.

This is another load of B.S. people always try to throw my way when I say I don't want kids.

As if I don't have siblings? Cousins? Friends? Spouses? Pets? Where does this idea that not having kids condemns you to an old age of lonliness and destitution come from??? Give me a break!

lol, you crack me up.

You'll end up being "Superdad". Just watch, I guarantee it. :)

ARRRGHHH!!!! NOBODY TAKES ME SERIOUSLY!!!

I am, I 100% absolutely and fully believe you, so help me god.

What I'm saying is that, there's more to the whole "kids" thing than you realize.
There's nothing that I can say, or do that will ever convince you otherwise because you have your conscious mind made up.

My point is that when you have kids of your own, there's a whole other part of your psyche and emotional being that gets woken up. Yeah sounds corny and impossible but I know many many many guys who have said the same thing and are now dads. Matter of fact EVERY darn guy I knew who took that stance are now dads and good ones at that.

Never going to happen. I've already nipped two pregnancies in the bud and I will not hesitate do it again. Thankfully the women were on the same page as me there. Hence why the vasectomy is so appealing. No chance of being baby-trapped (as a couple of my friends have been).

Quite frankly, that is a responsibility I am not willing to bear. MY time and MY money, all devoted to someone else? No thank you!

Maybe, but if there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's to never say never :) That's all I'm going to say.

Alright Relic, here's the deal. In five years, at 31, I'll find you here and tell you I don't have kids.

Then, in five more years, at 36, I'll find you here and tell you I still don't have kids.

If I DO happen to produce any children (lord help us all), I owe you a beer for going back on my word.

You know what? When I typed "at 36" I actually stopped and was like "Oh **** am I getting old!"

According to a re-occuring dream, I will have 5 daughters. And, I think, one son, but that varies, some dreams I have 5 daughters, one son, other 3 sons.

This dream is frightening in it's realism.

But, if I DO have five daughters, I will be the father who decides that he is going to clean and sharped the dangerous weapons when she brings her boyfriend over.

Also, my daughters will be extremely smart and extremely evil, and extremely beautiful. this combo breaker will allow them to take over the entire world.

Just a warning.

Speaking of daughters, I have this one recurring dream where I am sitting in a park and I am surrounded by six of my little girls. They're playing at a playground the whole time and asking me hundreds of questions. I answer all the questions and sit on the park bench watching them the whole time.

:help:

Oh sh- you too?

Right, you cats will take care of you. :rollno:
Siblings could predecease you. Cousins too, or they could move far away. I know my kids are gonna take care of me. :smug: Cause I have done right by them from Day 1.

By the way, one can have kids, screw them up, and end up in the nursing home from hell anyway with Nurse Freddy Kruger using you as a pincushion.:eek:

Oh, I believe you. I have lots of friends and coworkers that opted out of parenthood. We are mostly in our 40s and 50s now, so it is pretty much a done deal.

I see it plenty, so I don't know why some folks think it is just a 'given' all young men/women will eventually procreate. It's called freedom and procreating doesn't have to happen. BC pills are really effective. It is a HUGE personal decision and not one to be taken lightly where you just accidentally find yourself a Dad and hope you will adjust. IMHO.
